Final event of 2018 – Happy Holidays and see you in 2019!
AROUND 100 swimmers took part in our last event of the year – the 33.3m fun sprint event which took place at the Leisure centre on Thursday evening.
Congratulations to the two winners – Emma Williams in the girls event, Edward Maddocks for the boys. But also well done to all of those swimming in their first ever competitive event – may it be the first of many (special mention to the youngest swimmer Martha Marsden – the latest in what I understand is a long line of Marsdens and just as confident in the water as her older brothers)!
Huge thanks as ever to our coaches – Kev, Steve, Josh and Pheobe. Thank you also to everyone who helped out, including some parents volunteering for the first time. If you enjoyed yourself and would like to get more involved whether that be poolside as an official, helping to marshal the children or as a team manager, or any one of a number of non-poolside roles please let John Bell, Claire Wiggins, or one of the coaches know.
On behalf of the CSWPC swim committee, we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and make sure you and your swimmers get a good break because it’s going to be a busy start to 2019! See you on the other side
