Dear All,
I expect you are aware that the Olympic torch is passing through Cheltenham on Wednesday 23rd May.
It has been suggested that as an important sports club in the town, CSWPC should have a presence along the route, where members (Family and friends too) can congregate wearing club clothing and holding the club banner/flag.
Due to the disruption likely from road closures and the short distance the torch will actually be carried on foot rather than in the “torchmobile”, the suggested meeting point is on the corner of Painswick Road with Shurdington Road, where there is a larger than normal verge area and it is slightly away from the busy Bath Road and town centre.
If you are available, please meet at 4.30pm.
The Somerset Arms is just round the corner if people want to go for a drink after.
