Time Standards

Collected here are links to the times a swimmer must achieve to compete at County and Regional (South West) level.

  • Gloucester County ASA Qualifying Times 2016 Any swimmer achieving this standard will be able enter and compete at the Annual County Championships.
  • South West Region ASA Qualifying Times 2016 Linked here are both Consideration and Qualifying Times for South West Regional Championships. Regional qualifying times must be achieved at an ASA licensed meet, like the “Counties”. Entrants times must be recorded on the ASA Ranking Database. The “Regionals” are one of the few opportunities within the specified time window, to qualify for the National Championships. The “Regionals” are held in a Long Course (LC) 50m 10 lane pool.

The ASA National Championships no longer have a time based qualifying standard. “British Nationals” entrants will be drawn from the top 24 ranked times in the ASA Ranking Database, per age band, per event. “English Nationals” will be drawn from the top 20 ranked times, by swimmers who have not qualified for “British Nationals”. Only times achieved within the qualifying window will be included in the rankings.

Full details of the ASA Competition Pathway can be found on the ASA website.
